New Zone

So today's zone was Western plaguelands. Since going through it the first time it is refreshing to see it again - the only regret is that I did not do all of the quests previously but hey :)

I used up all of my rested XP so I will probably go back to Zere for awhile and do some more Outland DK fun. The wife has been levelling her DK through Outland and is determined to get to 80 before the 7th which is entirely possible. I really need to get some matching gear for him as he looks like a yard sale but hey.
Finally - "multishot" yup its a goodie of an add-on and I have changed the delay so it gets the emblem of achievement and the chat log.



and me at 40... and a riding skill which is cool... Dreadsteed ..wooo

New questing

Well what can I say its rather cool. I resurrected my Warlock (a gnome of course) and:

• all my quests had been reset - I presume as they didn't exist any more
• realised that I was too high for the level of zone I thought I should quest in
• ok lets move to a new zone and on the way in a couple of hours: 2 dungeons, 2 levels, about 10 flight points

Oh the new way quests work - they pop up from mobs and autocomplete when you finsih them rather than having to find your way back to where you got it from - then the next one just starts... soo much easier.


Having 100% rested XP probably helped there though

Current scene

So currently I am just levelling Zere on herbing and mining. I finally crossed over to Outland and it was good; bought a flying mount and the skill and I am off.

The patch messed up all of my add-ons royally so that was a pain especially as routes died a death. A bit of fiddling about and removing of the variables in WTF and all is fine again.

I also finally found perfect Dranethyst Sphere's as Tenmos turned up and drops 2-3 each time you kill him - for some reason they seem to be very expensive on the AH (probably just a bit of messing about by an auctioneer person as they only give lvl 60 blues).

Guild life is boring since I stopped tanking and doing any heroics - hopefully when things calm down a bit in December I can devote a bit mre time. The new content will be out by then so we shall see - it may even be live whilst at the LAN which will be good.

Day Blog

I have finally got the internet at work going on something of mine.Its a shame that I can't get it to work on my iPod but there you go.. prepare for more updates (not that anyone other than me reads this anyway)

When I say what a palaver you will hopefully understand as it is just internet explorer and nothing else currently. A shame ...

I found a wholeload of access points using net stumbler as the Trapeze network they are using shows up ther but in WZC it just shows as one network quite nifty. Enough of this non-WOW rubbish

A new world

I am still struggling with the new skills and have not done a dungeon since 4.01 landed. I have instead just done stuff with Steve on my reputation with the Goblins. I am done with Ratchet and Everlook so just Booty and Gadjet left. Not looking forward to G as that is mageweave.

OMG patch day

OMG patch day from hell. Actually it wasn't but it sounds good - it was just long. Huge download then extra small download that was torrent only. The torrent took over an hour I presume due to the traffic quantity.

Then to the game OMG what happened to my skills and buttons and bars OMG. I attempted a dungeon but had no skills and was messing about for so long all others left.

Bloodsail

So for better or worse I am now a Bloodsail Admiral woo. OMG what a palaver to get back up to at least neutral with steamwheedle cartel.

Luckily I had about 1400 Runecloth already but my god does the thing take a long time. The dearest had also done the same with Darwyn and got her Bloodsail Admiral but missed out on honoured so would have to regrind to get the rep back down again (i.e. reduce her Booty bay and get the Bloodsail back up to Honoured again).

Luckily when you do a hand-in you get 250 rep with each other faction so thats not too bad.

Wrapping Wrath

So Wrath is coming to an end and I have not achieved raiding greatness but hey ho. So what to do now?

Market watcher

So how do I get scans to save and display graphs? The dearest has asked me to work out how to use it.

I have added Frostweave and Netherweave cloth which is a start. The graph for Frostweave shows but the stupid graph only shows for that and not Nether. Ugh .... moan over :)

As I have decided to do other things than try and raid maybe making money would be a good thing. To that end I should level my rogue for the lockpicking, my tailor, enchanter and alchemist. For shags he need to get up his BS and JC. That should keep me going for ages.

Gnomeregon

And it begins... well the new starting area for gnomes is taking shape with a set of fun quests. Jumping down a pit and getting a parachute then in a similar way to the wrath gate getting a flag buff. All rather cool - shame i can't do a horde one as my hordie is only level five.

One of the things from the new quests is this suit on a four hour timer.

So I dinged 80 and its been awhile. Since then I have geared up as a tank. Completed a whole loads of achievements - including dungeons, holidays etc. Changing guilds; I left High Born which sometimes I regret but the new guild is busy.

Why did I change?
Well High Born is where I started but not a lot is happening - well it wasn't but now they are in ICC .. ugh. In "Nightmare on elf street" (NOES) I chose them because they are the largest guild with Vent a forum and lots of people online. I however am very behind the curve on gear so am not good enough to raid - poo. Also when in raid school I think I managed to wipe us several times so not good. Since then I have been very non-groupy (real word) with other from the guild.


Steve however seems as always to be a steadfast player  - even though he is a bit slow and presses the wrong buttons a lot. Nice enough to be with though which is all that matters.

...

So Heroics...

And then to Heroic's.

I have been doing these for over a month now and am getting better at them but still end up with groups that are a bit rubbish on the social side mainly which to be honest has put me off from playing.

My worst was the PUG which started by saying what was wrong with my gear - I didn't like it and thus left. I have tried to since then get some DPS gear instead but it doesn't really interest me.

So the end has come after just over a year since starting this character; I have finally achieved my first 80.. wooo

Not that anyone other than me is bothered but it was good for me.. so a nice setting for a screenshot and here it is..


That's me and a bear. So the wife was here to see me have no XP bar any more (that is odd) and "T" was in the background scolding my "Wowiness". I had a few comments from the guild which was nice.

So not it is finish up my normals and then into heroic instances and the Hemlokk badge chase.

all good fun.. :)

Into the Nether

Ok reputation. Other than building rep with Stormwind and Darnassus (beinga nightelf and all) I have never thought about it. Hem had fun getting "Son's of Hodir" for those shoulder enchants as I helped her with a couple of quests but generally - of no interest.

Epic flying... oooo... 5000g aghhh
....but if you have Honor hold faction you can have it .. oh wait its changed to Stormwind... weee so I coughed up 4k gold + 200g for a mount and epic I am.

The downside; I have a griffin. Its very nice and all but its a bit boring. Yes it is 280% but at the end of the day its a griffin with a hoody. Also in some ways I think I would have preferred flying to stay at 60% instead of 150% as I don't honestly see a lot of difference in the speed.

So back to reputation and Stevie (yay Steve a mention in my blog) who introduced me to WOW back when I was playing Guild Wars. I lunked my PC over to his place on Saturday night and we gamed and discussed flying so inevitably it went onto what we were flying and he said he was rep grinding.

This (see picture) now one of my aims for the future - a Netherwing Drake

Update on multy gatherer

So as mentioned I started a death knight to be my gatherer character. How is it going? Since starting I have gone from 1500 to 4500 gold in the space of a couple of weeks. The best thing was the initial setup of routes and gathermate and then just selling evrything in sight. Hem has discovered the Darkmoon Fayre so we have agreed that she will keep the low quantity items from there and I have my Netherstorm ones.

As an aside hem needed some nightmare vine and being 78 means I do not get aggro even up close - I flew over to Shadowmoon Valley and had the starnge experience of being ignored - very odd.

To sum up should you do multiple gathering - yes most definitely.

She's a nightmare

Well the vine anyway. So tonite was my first venture to Shadowmoon Valley. My what a depressing place all fire and brimstone. However it is very good for herbing and being 78 I get ignored by mobs.

The black temple is more green but I couldn't get into it. Money is still going up nicely

Fayre enough

Darkmoon fayre. This also seems to be a limited sell place. Herbs, leather etc are quite popular - this one is for Hem though. The special item seems to be the frog pets; hint talk to the frog and the boy will stop and you can get the swag ;)

Weekend update - money...

So my lack of money and the plan to get more in from the last post. Mining and herbalism are definitely the way to go there. Sources are:

Herbalism and Mining on one character
Picking up low quantity items from traders

The best things:

• Silver - can someone explain why a 75 mining item sells so well?
• Fel iron bolts - must be a fluke but they sell
• Herbs - all sorts - see above piccy

A tip I have found. Buy up everything below where you want to place your auctions. As an example copper for some reason on my server is now 6g a stack at 200% so when anyone puts it up for normal price I just buy it all up and put back up for my price.

Plant or stone

So which should I do... mining or herbalism.

Well the answer was both; with gathermate, gathermate data and routes I now herb and mine at the same time. With some mining gloves which give +5 mining I am well on the way.


I had an evening of mining etc and am up to 155 mining (see mining ding above) and 110 herbalism; I mined 23 silver which is quite good. The only thing I need to do now is learn AOE on my DK so quickly get rid of mobs.

On Death Knights

So I finally re-did my death knight and worked my way through the starting area and out to Stormwind. It was a good ride and very enjoyable - would I do it again... not sure. It compares quite well with the Wrathgate but maybe because I did both so close together the Death Knight was not as epic as I was told. Don't get me wrong though it was fun but it could have been "funner"

So the reason for this character - gold

I had the idea of getting mining and herbage but recently read an article to do mining and engineering to be able to collect eternals from gas clouds.... ooOOOooo what an interesting idea. There were lots of add-ons to get so will have to spend some time setting it up and will need to level a bit as well but should be fun.

update.. (later that day after reading up on engineering) too much like hard work... herbing and mining instead....

I can fly

So Christmas has come and gone and I have to go back to work soon.

The end result is:

• I have levelled to 77
• The Dungeon Finder is the coolest thing ever - being a tank I press get group and "bing" I have a group. hem on teh other hand has a 15 min wait as DPS
• The raid finder is poo as you can't queue for both - I presume they don't want you to bug out of an instance but it would be nice to have a choice
• I need a new processor/memory/mb combo as my lovely 28" monitor really stuffs up my FPS - I had to turn things down last night as I was getting 1 FPS at one point. So 6gb ram and i7 920 ready for next LAN.
